My favorite part of a "real" barbershop visit is the feel of freedom to chat about things that men enjoy, obviously the barber needs to be a man to indulge in the chat. The smell of the lotions is relaxing. The special things a man gets in a real barber shop is attention to eye brow trimming, ear hair removal and the razor shave of the man's neck and outline around ears. Usually it costs a bit more but worth it. After the neck shave and dusting with talc I just feel good and want to return soon. On a few occasions I have enjoyed a facial shave at the barber. I don't shave for a week then go to a specialty men's barber and get the works- hot towel, hot lather, straight razor shave and the barber does the shave twice. after the cool towel I feel my face and it is as smooth as a baby's skin. A great barber's shave seems to last longer at least it seems that way. Yeah, hope there will always be real barber shops.
